Play Dough Recipe

Ingredients

 

• 4 cups flour

• 2 cups salt

• 8 tsps. cream of tartar

• 4 cups water

• 6 Tbsps. oil

• Food coloring

Directions

 

Mix together dry ingredients.  Add oil.  Stir.  Pour boiling water into the mix and stir.  Cool and knead.  Add food coloring as needed.  You may also add peppermint or almond extract for scent, if you wish.  Please check the classroom allergy list before adding extracts. 

 

Warning For Pet Owners:  A veterinarian told us that because of the high salt content in homemade playdough, it can be toxic if eaten by animals.
